UK Journalist in Thailand Andrew Drummond summonsed to answer charges of Contempt of Court

Andrew Drummond - charged with contempt of court.
27th June 2014

UK Journalist #AndrewDrummond has been ordered to appear in person at Koh Samui Provincial Court August 7th 2014 at 0900hrs.

Following a short hearing yesterday the Court issued an order for Drummond to appear in person on that date, after a petition was filed at the Court by lawyers acting for David Hanks in Black Case number 1246/2556. Should Drummond not appear, prosecuting attorneys are likely to request an arrest warrant be issued.

Prosecuting lawyers have requested the Court to examine articles posted on the website of #AndrewDrummond after Court hearings in November last year,  to determine whether or not the articles written by #AndrewDrummond amount to contempt of court.

For legal reasons the nature of the charges cannot be reported.

The contempt of court matter is to heard immediately after the close of evidence in Black Cases number 1246/2556, 1269/2556 and 1826/2556 brought by David Hanks and Brian Goudie under the tough Computer Crimes Act Thailand.

In Thailand it is contempt of court to misreport court proceedings, attack the character of a Plaintiff, Defendant or witness, or to publish details of witness testimony in an ongoing case.

Drummond if found guilty of contempt can be jailed for up to six months.

Andrew Drummond and Kanokrat Booth sue under the Thai Computer Crimes Act

A UK Journalist and a Thai journalist have filed proceedings in Bangkok Criminal  Court accusing Brian Goudie, Drew Noyes and David Hanks of breaching Thai Computer Laws.

Andrew Drummond who was convicted in February 2014 of the criminal defamation of Drew Noyes and David Hanks has filed jointly with Kanokrat Nimsamoot Booth.

Booth alleges she was defamed in a blog, she says owned by the three, because the blog said her UK visa was cancelled as a result of her ex-husband Dennis Booth reporting to UKBA he no longer wished to sponsor her spouse visa, alleging an extra marital affair.

Booth further alleges she was defamed when the blog reported that she had threatened to kill herself outside the UK Embassy in Bangkok over the matter.

As a result of inquiries made, we now publish the link to a YouTube video above of Booth threatening to kill herself outside the UK Embassy in Bangkok, oddly enough originally published by her joint plaintiff in the case.

Further a spokesman for UKBA has verified the record of  Booth's visa cancellation, order for detention and deportation order made at Glasgow Airport in May 2010.

Booth has since appealed the visa cancellation, bnt although The Upper Immigration Tribunal found UKBA had erred in cancelling her visa, Booth has not as yet been able to persuade UKBA to grant a new emtry permit.

In order to succeed in a Computer Crimes Action, Booth must prove the imputation made is false, and based on the video above and the confirmation of the deportation order,  lawyers for the three must be feeling some sense of confidence.

Roderick Robinson, 77, was arrested at a campsite in the Algarve in 2010 and extradited to Australia - where he was wanted for the 1998 rape of an eight-year-old.

Robinson was sentenced to six months in prison in Australia, and in 2011 travelled to Thailand, where he was arrested and deported (above).

Following another conviction in the UK in 2012 Robinson is thought to have travelled to Thailand or Cambodia.
Robinson is believed to have evidence or information about a suspected paedophile ring that operated in the Algarve region where three-year-old Madeleiine went missing in 2007.

UK Paedophile Robert Wood jailed for 12 months after failing to comply with reporting requirements after child abuse conviction in Thailand.

Robert Wood - Convicted Paedophile returned to UK and jailed for failure to comply with requiremnts of Sex Offenders Register
UK citizen and paedophile Robert Wood was sentenced to 63 years behind bars in 2003 (cut to 42 years) for sexually abusing eight boys in Thailand, and was recently sentenced to a further twelve months for failing to comply with reporting requirements following his inclusion on the UK sex offenders register on his deportation to the UK from Thailand.

Wood and another man abused street children aged between eight and 15 after pretending to offer them somewhere safe to live and filmed the abuse and made it available on the internet.

At his initial trial when an interpreter read out the verdict and sentence – one of the longest given to a foreigner for paedophilia – Wood, who reportedly lives in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, banged the table and shouted abuse at the judge.

After being removed from the Thai court until he calmed down, Wood was brought back to be sentenced to another two months for contempt of court. He has 30 days to appeal.

Wood was repatriated to serve his sentence in the UK and following a pardon by the King of Thailand was eventually released in March 2012, however as part of his release conditions he was then told he would be on a sex offender register - one condition of which was to notify police of travel plans.

Wood gave police his mother’s address in Princess Crescent, Dewsbury and another address in Halifax but only stayed one night at the first address and three at the second before he went missing.

Wood went on the run and over the following weeks a friend received e-mails from him indicating he was in France and Spain. He was known to have made a phone call from Germany, had spent time in the Canaries and when he travelled back to the UK following his mother’s death in January this year it was from Holland.

Wood, 35 recently of Gorikestraat, Tulburg in Holland, admitted failing to comply with a notification order and was jailed for 12 months.

Judge Neil Clark told him: “You were made subject of a sex offender notification requirement following your conviction in Thailand for sex offences. You breached that order and it was a sustained breach.

These orders are important, designed for the protection of the public and in your case for the protection of children and a breach will almost always lead to immediate imprisonment.”

Note - Sarah's law was implemented after the body of Sarah Payne was found on July 17 2000 in a field near Pulborough, some 15 miles from Kingston Gorse where she had disappeared.

FBI seeks assistance in identifying victims of US Paedophile William Vahey

William James Vahey
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking the public’s assistance to identify victims of suspected international child predator William James Vahey.

The FBI profile on Vahey is here.

Vahey, a United States citizen, was employed as a teacher in various private American schools abroad since 1972.

The investigation is being led by the FBI, with help from the Metropolitan Police.

Vahey participated in student study tours in many countries including Thailand, India, Jordan, Nepal, Bahrain, Syria, Greece, Egypt, Russia, England, Kenya, Hungary, Turkey, Iran, Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, and Venezuela.

Since his death last month it has emerged he preyed on dozens of boys.

Police report that on April 22 2014 officers executed a search warrant at Vahey's address in north London, where officers recovered a laptop and 11 memory sticks.

Vahry is believed to have abused children at other schools around the world, and killed himself two days after police in the US filed a warrant to search a computer drive belonging to him containing pornographic images of at least 90 boys aged from 12 to 14, who appeared to be drugged and unconscious.

The FBI revealed it has been "contacted by several hundred individuals from around the globe wishing either to reach out as potential victims or provide information in the ongoing investigation".

Images of between 50 and 60 students at Southbank were found on the computer drive, with the school's chairman of governors, Sir Chris Woodhead, saying he had been left sickened by the revelations which emerged in April.

Vahey was convicted over a child sex offence in California in 1969 but appears to have failed to sign the sexual offenders' register, which allowed him to slip through the net and go on to work in several schools around the world.

Any information  can be emailed to casewatchasia@gmail.com for forwarding to law enforcement authorities.
